Section – I

Q-1 Attempt any four (8 marks)
1) State equations of motion modify these equations for body falling freely.
2) A meter scale is falling down without slipping from vertical position with 2rad/s.
Calculate acceleration with which it falls.
3) State Newton’s third law of motion. What do you think about cancellation of
action & reaction?
4) Define a) work b) impulse.
5) Each man pulls load at an angle 300 with horizontal with 2kn. Find work done in
15m displacement.
6) A railway moving with speed 72 km/hr stops after 2 minutes. Calculate
retardation.

Q-2 Attempt any three. (12 marks)
1) A block of mass 20kg is pulled on a floor by horizontal rope through distance of
20m. If coefficient of friction between block & floor is 0.2, find work done.
2) Equation of SHM is y= 0.3 sin 2? ( t + ? /
Calculate 1) acceleration at distance 1meter, 2) phase of particle after 1second.
3) A body accelerating uniformly at 5red/s2 is found to be rotating at 90red/s at the
end of 12/sec. Determine initial velocity & angle turned during this internal.
4) A railway travels between stations 60km apart in 40 minutes. The train
accelerates uniformly & uniforms retardation. Find the maximum speed attained
during the journey. Plot VT diagram.
